Church Bombed on New Year?s Day January 19 (World Watch Monitor) ? (Compass) - A powerful bomb exploded at Aden?s historic Christchurch in southern Yemen in the early hours of New Year?s Day, knocking out a dozen sections of the wall around the church compound and leaving two rooms of the pastor?s residence in shambles. No one was injured in the 5:30 a.m. blast, which shattered every window on one side of the parsonage. The only occupants of the building, a couple sleeping in an upper-story bedroom on the opposite side of the building, were untouched. The pastor and his wife were abroad for their Christmas holidays at the time of the blast. The bombing of the Anglican church was one of five explosions set off in the port during the first 48 hours of 2001.
