Our respected aviation industry client needs a contract Technical Writer with solid S1000D documentation experience to update maintenance and repair manuals for jet engines.
Initially you?ll support a massive data conversion initiative (from SGML to S1000D v4.01) by implementing edits and updates, and cleaning up converted content. Once the conversion phase completes, you?ll transition into an open-ended contract role authoring S1000D documentation.
If you?ve authored multiple S1000D deliverables, know how to create and revise data modules, and are comfortable using Simplified English, you?re a strong candidate.
This will be full-time (40 hours/week), fully onsite work in Hartford, CT, beginning in late March or early April and extending through (at least) the end of 2013. You?d be paid on a 1099 basis, unless you prefer W2.
Required:
- Strong experience implementing the S1000D documentation standard
- Working knowledge of Simplified English
- Sharable, relevant writing samples and reachable references
- Full-time, long-term availability
- Ability to work onsite in Hartford, CT (traveling at your own expense)
Desired:
- Experience working in the avionics industry documenting the maintenance of commercial jet engines and/or airframes
- Exposure to S1000D products from Corena
