Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said that RB8?s development didn?t help his teammate, Sebastian Vettel in winning his third consecutive world drivers? championship title in the 2012 Formula 1 season.
The Milton Keynes based squad struggled a lot with their car?s design during the start of this season because of the changes in the rules and regulations by FIA.
Nevertheless, their chief technical officer, Adrian Newey efficiently developed the most competitive car in the field for the veteran German driver towards the end of the season.
Eventually, the 25-year-old performed amazingly well during the last few races and successfully won his third championship title by 3 points from his main rival, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
However, the Aussie disagreed with the prevailing contemplation that the advancement in the car during the season helped Vettel in claiming the title.
In addition, he said that he has also been very competitive in this season and stood amongst one of the most competent title contenders during the opening few races. Conversely, he faced some technical issues and had few unfortunate collisions on track due to which he failed to keep up the level of consistency in his performance.

Webber said. ?Singapore's been a track there and Hockenheim that were two venues that were probably my weakest performances of the year, although we had howler with strategy in Singapore to rub salt in wounds. So not really; I was strong in Suzuka, I was very strong there and Seb and I were on front row. I was strong in Korea, I was strong in India.?
?So I was not uncompetitive after Singapore, it was just that we had an alternator, we had Grosjean, we had things which are like dropping your toast and it lands butter-side down or whatever,? he added.
The Australian driver secured 6th place in this year?s drivers? championship. Besides, he stood ahead of Felipe Massa of Ferrari and behind McLaren drivers, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.
The 36-year-old has recently undergone his final leg surgery and is looking forward to deliver his best in next season.
