Tumor Research
[Abstract]
ObjectiveObesity has been shown to be associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. One mechanism underlying this relationship may involve the grow-promoting effects of the circulating hormone associated with obesity, such as leptin. The investigation is to investigate the relationships of leptin level in serum and colorectal carcinoma.MethodsABC-ELLSA was used to detect the leptin level in 30 colorectal patients and 24 normal controls. The K-RAS?P53?APC?DCC genes of the tumors were examined with RT-PCR,and other clinicopathological features were also recorded.ResultsThe leptin level in 30 colorectal patients are(3.54(2.08?5.01)ng/mL)higher than the contral normal group(2.27(1.28?3.26)ng/mL),p?0.05.There were no significant difference between the each tumor stages leptin level.Leptin level in patients who are poorly differentiated is obviously lower than those in who are well-differentiated and moderately differentiated. There were no significant difference with the level of CEA and CA199.There were no significant difference with K-RAS?P53?APC?DCC genes in tumor.ConclusionThe leptin level in colorectal patients are higher than the normal persons. The differentiated of tumor chang the leptin level. There were no significant correlations between K-RAS?P53?APC?DCC genes in tumor and leptin in serum.
